ABOUT

Hey...  It’s me, Craig Cooley

Bardo Kid is an evolving expression of everything I love under one virtual roof, with a focus on painting, both abstract and figurative, the visionary experience, and  this thing we call “being alive”.

Launching out of Louisiana at 18 in 1986, I spent time in Boston and then landed in New York City,  traveling extensively and making a life out of creating and pursuing art during 40 (ongoing) years of professional art making.

I see the natural world as minded, and as our species rushes towards whatever awaits it, science is sounding more like ancient knowledge. Hopefully, this works an unpretentious celebration of creativity, thought provoking, and sometimes just simply fun.  As we rocket through the multiverse, I hope to maybe add my two cents worth, shining a little light in this biological program running on our rock.

I really enjoy taking an original piece of my art and making it accessible to many people in different ways, democratizing it if you will.  Everything here begins its life in the 3-D world as an actual physical piece of art first.  My hope is whether you install a piece of this art on a wall,  let it ride around on your body, or something else, it's a small reminder that we're all special, important, and unique beings having a human experiences.

And yes, that's 1972 me in the circular logo rocking a homemade haircut and disco shirt, hanging out in a Tibetan thangka situation...
